History
Our Story is Quite Simple:
Inside a Sunset Grill - 1980's
On March 20th 1985, Angelo Cristou (founder) opened Sunset Grill’s doors for the first time on Queen Street East in the Beaches area of Toronto, Ontario. The California inspired concept was named after the Don Henley hit song, Sunset Grill. The goal was to become the best breakfast restaurant in town and to keep it a 1 shift specialty operation.
Following the simple formula that “Fresh is Tastiest™”, Sunset Grill quickly became very popular with long lineups of loyal customers. Today, Sunset Grill is Ontario’s favourite breakfast restaurant.
On February 19th 2008, with the help of my family (the MacDonald’s), I opened the door to Richmond Hill’s first Sunset Grill at the corner of Yonge St. and Tower Hill rd. Now more than two years later, we are in the process of trying to duplicate this success in Newmarket. We our proud to call our restaurant a cornerstone in our neighbourhood, and through participation in the community and local events we try to give back the gratitude so many of our loyal customers have come to show us over the years.
It is said that when something works, don’t change it. With the Franchises 25th anniversary quickly approaching, we realize that while we have evolved, the concept has not changed. After all, good food, fast service and a pleasant 
experience is what a restaurant is all about.
Our food and preparation methods are 5 star inspired and quality is never sacrificed. All our menu items are cooked fresh to order using healthy methods: flat top grills, pat dry bacon and nothing is ever deep fried. With choices such as our famous bacon and 3 eggs for breakfast or our flagship Sunset Burgers for lunch, we invite you try our restaurants for an experience you can count on!
